I live and create in North Vancouver, BC. Born in Poland, I grew up in Warsaw and came to Canada as a young adult. Although I had a passion and aptitude for art ever since a very young age, I was not able to fully dedicate myself to it util my older years. I took art courses at Capilano Collage (now Capilano University) and Emily Carr University and continue to participate in art workshops as I enjoy learning and perfecting my skills.
Portraiture is my favorite art form and so I choose to paint close to reality reflecting the detail characteristics of my subjects whether they are people, animals, trees or still life. Usually on canvas or canvas-board I use oil paint in soft yet colorful pallet interpreting the atmosphere of the captured moment. My inspiration is simply beauty, which I find everywhere and in everything. I seek to portray the quiet elegance present that speaks to me among the chaos of visual information. I paint because I can’t imagine life without it.
For years I was running a glass painting studio in North Vancouver, now I enjoy drawing from life and painting in oil. I am happy to accept commissions for portraits whether of people including children, or animals, or objects and I very much appreciate the joy my paintings bring to my clients.
